Burnout Coaching in the Netherlands: Recognise the Signs Before It’s Too Late   TL;DR: Burnout rarely starts with a collapse. It starts with numbness, cynicism, and tiredness. High achievers usually read those signals as a busy season and push on. Burnout coaching works on the beliefs and pressures sitting underneath the exhaustion, so recovery holds instead of fading a few days after the holiday ends.   You aren’t lazy. You’re just so used to running on empty that you’ve forgotten what a full gas tank feels like. Here’s something heard daily in coaching sessions: “I thought I was just tired. I didn’t realise I’d been burning out for years.” That confession comes from brilliant leaders. People who build companies, manage large teams, and win big victories. Yet inside, they feel completely hollow. In modern work culture, we treat exhaustion like a medal of honour. We wear our busy schedules as proof of loyalty. Especially in the Netherlands. In the 2025 National Working Conditions Survey, 20.7% of Dutch employees reported burnout complaints, the highest figure since the survey began tracking it in 2007. Ten years ago, that number was 13%.  But working hard is totally different from draining your core self. Here’s how to spot the hidden warning signs and rebuild through burnout recovery coaching. Why High Achievers Miss the Red Flags Depletion shows up through small, daily habits: extra espresso shots, a shorter fuse with your team, or a stubborn mental fog. A senior leader at a global firm recently shared a moment of realization: “I took a month off, unplugged completely, and returned to my desk feeling just as exhausted as the day I left.” That happens because brief breaks do not cure depletion. Depletion stems from operating in a state of ongoing overload that simple time off cannot fix. High achievers fall into this trap because their greatest strengths work against them. Grit, fierce independence, and remarkable standards make it easy to ignore early alarms. You are trained to break through walls. You get rewarded for delivering results, no matter the cost.  There is also a cultural layer to it here. Dutch working life prizes level-headedness and getting on with things, and complaining about pressure can feel like breaking an unspoken rule. So when exhaustion hits, you mislabel it as a busy month or the standard cost of doing big things. Signs of Burnout Professional Leaders Hide The initial warning signs of severe depletion are often brushed aside. Here is what ambitious leaders regularly experience long before realising they are facing systemic fatigue: Emotional Numbness You sit through executive meetings, check every box, yet feel entirely disconnected from the outcome. Winning no longer feels exciting; it just feels like another item off the list. Growing Cynicism Minor hiccups trigger outsized frustration. You find yourself rolling your eyes at colleagues you genuinely respect. This is a clear sign your nervous system is pushed way past its comfort zone. Unexplained Physical Tension Persistent jaw clenching, restless nights, or digestive trouble. Mental overload always writes its story on the body. Less Output Despite Longer Hours:  Tasks that used to take twenty minutes now stretch across two frustrating hours. Your brain feels wrapped in thick cotton. Stepping Back From Your Inner Circle You cancel dinner plans, ignore group chats, and pull away from family. Socialising starts to feel like extra labour rather than a comfort. When two or three of these patterns stick around for weeks, your body is asking you to stop and pay attention. Why the Holiday Never Quite Works We love to think a week on a sunny beach cures everything. Rest is essential, but it doesn’t change habit loops. True depletion comes from living out of balance for months or years. This is where coaching for exhausted high achievers creates real change and asks: Why do you feel unsafe saying no? Where did you learn that your personal worth equals your daily output? What Happens Inside Burnout Recovery Coaching Working through deep fatigue is about understanding the core roots of your stress and making choices that feel good from the ground up. Using practical framework tools alongside emotional intelligence insights, Diana Ingrid helps clients look at how their daily energy shapes their thinking, choices, and performance. You will learn how to lead with the gentle leadership model to guide your career from a place of clear strength. Here is what the path forward usually focuses on: Uncovering Hidden Beliefs Many patterns of overworking stem from deep assumptions formed early in life, such as the belief that you need to prove your worth through nonstop output. Exploring how childhood-rooted limiting beliefs influence leadership helps break those automatic reactions. Calming Your Nervous System Chronic stress keeps your system on high alert. Coaching gives you simple, physical tools to reset your baseline calm during high-stakes days. Rebuilding Around Real Priorities Step away from external expectations and get crystal clear on what actually matters to you right now. Creating Healthy, Everyday Habits Establish grounded routines that naturally restore your energy. Adopting gentle self-care in conscious leadership provides a solid foundation for this shift. The Next Step Quick fixes tackle surface symptoms. If you feel overwhelmed, you download a calendar app. If you feel exhausted, you drink more coffee. Those steps might help for a day, but they leave the main engine running hot. Transformational work looks beneath the surface. Why is setting firm boundaries so uncomfortable? Why does turning down a project feel so risky? Consider a technical lead who realised her relentless pace wasn’t about her team’s workload at all. It came from an old, subconscious belief that her value depended on solving everyone else’s problems first. Once she shifted that mindset, her calendar cleared up naturally without damaging her output. If you are ready to trade constant pressure for clear, steady confidence, let’s start the conversation. Explore transformational coaching options crafted specifically for high performers, or reach out directly today to take your first real step toward sustainable energy. –> Read full article

  • Free Coaching Clarity Call: A Transparent Walkthrough

What to Expect from a Free Coaching Clarity Call TL;DR: Our free coaching clarity call is a 30-minute, pressure-free conversation to help you explore whether coaching fits your needs right now. Diana focuses on listening, understanding your situation, and giving you space to decide without obligation. Asking for help can feel like admitting something is wrong.  Many people worry they will sound confused, ungrateful for their success, or like they are making problems out of nothing before their first conversation. Others worry they have to prove they deserve support. That fear makes sense. Most people learn to handle things alone and keep the messy parts hidden. The idea of sitting across from someone and saying, “I don’t know what’s wrong, but something feels off”, can feel overwhelming. What many people don’t know is that you do not need to have your story figured out before you reach out. Actually, you don’t need to know what kind of support you want, or if you even want to book a coaching session yet. The call exists precisely because you’re not sure. What Actually Happens During the 30 Minutes The First Few Minutes (Settling In) Diana creates a calm space right away. Instead of jumping into big goals, she checks in on how your day is going. This gives your system a quick moment to settle before the real conversation begins. The Middle (Understanding Your Situation) Diana asks open questions to understand where you are right now. She might ask what brought you to the call or what a typical day feels like. She listens to the patterns and pressures underneath the surface to see how transformational coaching services might help. The Final Stretch (Clarity, Not Closing) Diana shares what she hears and discusses whether her approach fits your needs. If a free life coaching consultation reveals that another resource, like therapy, is a better fit, she will state that directly. You stay in the driver’s seat the entire time. The Questions Diana Might Ask Many people wonder what a coach asks during a free life coaching consultation. Diana keeps her questions simple and supportive: What’s been weighing on you lately? How long have you been feeling this way? What have you already tried? What would support look like for you right now? How This Differs from a Standard Coaching Discovery Call This call is  Not… a sample coaching session: This conversation helps you decide if coaching makes sense; it is not a mini-session. Not …a sales pitch: There is no pressure, no script, and no rush to sign up. Not… a long-term commitment: Booking a free coaching clarity call commits you to 30 minutes of conversation and nothing more. Not… about having all the answers: The call meets you in the middle of not knowing.  Many sales calls follow a rigid path: find the problem, push a solution, and close the deal. Diana’s approach is different. It relies on the core principles of a transformational leadership coach. Who Tends To Find Value in This Call? This call helps people who: Feel successful on paper but exhausted underneath Realise that pushing harder isn’t working anymore Want to understand what conscious leadership is in their work and life Practice self-love in leadership by asking for space to figure things out We promise that whether you manage a team or navigate a personal transition, this call gives you space to explore what needs to shift. Your Next Step Is Entirely Up to You Taking space for yourself isn’t something you have to earn; it’s something you simply choose. If you feel ready to explore what a conversation could unlock, you can book a coaching session today and discover what clarity feels like on your own terms. Questions People Ask Before They Book Do I need to prepare anything? No notes, no goals, no rehearsed explanation. Diana will work with whatever is present for you that day. If one specific thing prompted you to book, mention it. Beyond that, arriving unprepared is completely fine and fairly common. What if I get emotional during the call? Emotion is welcome. Relief tends to show up when someone finally gets to be honest about their experience. Diana stays with whatever arrives and lets you move at your own pace. Will Diana try to sell me a coaching package? No. If coaching looks like a fit, she will describe what working together involves so you have the information. The decision and the timing are yours. You can pick a time that suits you and find out what surfaces when you finally say it out loud.   Disclaimer: We are passionate about sharing insights, tools, and reflections to help you cultivate conscious, gentle leadership™ and inner alignment. • Transform Your Narrative: Rewrite Limiting Beliefs With Coaching

The New Life Story Process is a structured coaching method that surfaces the subconscious scripts guiding your behaviour. Instead of forcing surface-level daily habits onto an outdated identity, this approach helps you rewrite limiting beliefs through coaching. You’ll examine your past conditioning, drop old protective scripts, and build a story that reflects your true potential.   Think back to the last time you tried to change an entrenched habit or step into a bigger leadership role. You likely started with raw discipline and high motivation. Yet, after a few weeks, an invisible tether pulled you straight back to where you started. When your progress stalls, it’s rarely a lack of effort or strategy. It’s usually an unexamined narrative operating silently beneath your awareness.   Psychologists call this your narrative identity; it is the ongoing story you tell yourself about who you are, what you deserve, and what you can achieve. When a new goal conflicts with an old internal script, the script usually wins.  The New Life Story Process helps you edit those foundational scripts, so your actions align naturally with your goals. Why Positive Thinking Just Bounces Off Affirmations, vision boards, and pep talks work on the mind’s top layer. They change what you think about. They rarely touch what you believe. While these methods sound encouraging, they treat symptoms rather than the root cause. Subconscious beliefs are not just abstract thoughts; they are deeply wired into your nervous system. A belief like “I must over-deliver to earn my seat at the table” often forms early in life as a survival mechanism. It keeps you safe from criticism or failure. Trying to replace that thought with “I am a bold, dynamic speaker” creates instant friction inside your mind. The brain spots the mismatch and returns to what feels safe and familiar. To truly change your inner narrative, you must work with the underlying story rather than painting over it. Where Your Inner Narrative Comes From Psychologists have a name for the filing system holding these beliefs. The American Psychological Association describes a self-schema as a set of beliefs about yourself that guides what you notice, how you read it, and what you keep. Most of yours were built early, by a much younger person doing their best with limited information. A child who learned that praise arrived only after achievement can grow into an adult who cannot rest. A child who watched a parent go quiet after conflict can grow into an adult who avoids hard conversations for thirty years. Both beliefs were intelligent responses at the time. Both are running on software written for a world that no longer exists. Over time, separate beliefs knit together into something larger. Northwestern psychologist Dan McAdams calls this narrative identity: the evolving life story people build to explain how they became who they are. Memory does not work like a tape. Researchers call it reconstructive. This means we rebuild our memories each time we think about the past. As we do, the story can change. The New Life Story Process, Step by Step The New Life Story Process is a structured, science-backed approach designed to rewrite limiting beliefs through coaching. Instead of imposing quick strategies, this method guides you through four distinct phases of narrative transformation. 1. Spotting the Hidden Script You can’t change a story you don’t realize you’re telling. So, first, bring subconscious patterns to light. These often sound like: “I must work twice as hard as everyone else just to prove I belong.” “Setting boundaries will cause people to walk away.” “Real success always requires painful sacrifice.” 2. Questioning It Fairly Once a story is on the table, it is examined with curiosity rather than blame. Where did it start? What was it protecting? Does the evidence still hold? The goal here is accuracy, not positivity. A belief formed at age seven deserves a fair hearing before it gets retired. Many of these stories were genuinely useful once, and honouring that makes them easier to let go of. 3. Finding the Replacement Then comes the writing. A strong new story has to be believable, or your system will reject it on arrival. Consider the difference between I have to prove I belong, and I belong here because of what I bring, not only what I produce. The second version is modest, specific, and true. Small shifts like this change the ground on which you make decisions. 4. Living It Until It Feels Ordinary A story only takes root when you put it into practice. Through mental visualization, calm body responses, and everyday actions, the updated belief becomes natural over time. Why Narrative Coaching Works Standard coaching typically targets immediate goals, action steps, and daily accountability. While those tools work well, they assume your internal mindset is already pointing in the right direction. Belief transformation coaching starts somewhere else. It treats the background story as the deciding factor because a strategy built on a contradictory belief tends to collapse quickly. This approach supports what gets built on it. That principle sits at the heart of conscious leadership, which asks leaders to understand their own patterns before managing anyone else’s. Who This Work Tends to Fit The New Life Story Process benefits anyone who feels stuck in repetitive loops despite their best efforts. It is especially helpful for: Leaders who look successful from the outside and feel hollow or exhausted on the inside Professionals in transition who cannot name what they actually want Anyone who keeps producing a result their conscious mind never ordered If logic alone has failed to move a pattern for years, the pattern probably lives below logic.  H2: What Happens When You Change Your Inner Narrative The results of belief-level change are often subtle yet profound. You won’t wake up as a completely different person overnight. Instead, you’ll notice that former stress triggers lose their power over you. Before: A missed deadline feels like a direct threat to your self-worth, which sets off a spiral of –> Read full article
